What Others Say About SCAIHS
I just wanted to let you know, since you were very involved in advising for my son, that after he graduated last May he started college this fall. He took 5 - 3 credit classes including elementary calculus, which he tested into. In all 5 classes he has received A's! He has a 4.0 gpa after his first semester. His English teacher thought she might be able to recommend him for an English scholarship! Over the years I have home schooled my kids through High School I have endured much criticism and concern from many people that my kids "would not be ready" for college, or be eligible for scholarships, etc because of home schooling them. I am so thankful for all the assistance and good advice I have received from you/SCAIHS. I am so thankful for the home school option in SC that SCAIHS provides! My son was obviously "ready" for college! (Irmo) SS 12/14/11
I am very grateful for the help that you and the other great folks at SCAIHS have been throughout the years. I know that it is not easy to keep up with all of the students that you serve, but you help us to feel that each one of our children is known by you personally. I do not take you all for granted for one second. I have been especially aware of what a blessing it has been to homeschool as we have worked on ___'s applications for college. Thank you for the opportunities that you have enabled us to receive -and for your reminder!! We hope that you and your families will have a blessed season as well. With love and gratitude, (Ridgeland) NL 11/20/2011

(Lexington) B.M. 6/9/2011
Thank you for all of your help over the past two years. SCAIHS has made it possible for ___ to have such a wonderful chance to hold jobs in a field which she hopes to make a career and to travel. You ladies are making an eternal difference in the lives of all your graduates and their families. As the mom of a former SCAIHS graduate, I really valued the advice and counsel and shoulder of my high school counselor(s), and credit them with helping ___ find great success at the college level (and hardly any college loans to pay back). I don't know how anyone without SCAIHS makes it through the maze of high school courses, texts, and credits, with all the curricula that is out there now. I wouldn't have wanted to chance it. You do a terrific job, all of you! (Chapin) D.H. 6/2/2011
From Mom preparing to move to SC: Thank you so much for the information. Even though we have been homeschooling for many years, I am still nervous about the move and getting settled in the right place. The information you provided put my mind at ease. I'm not sure when we are moving, but we are coming up to visit in June. Hopefully, we will find a home and know our plans a little better after that. I look forward to getting involved with your group. Thank you again. A.M. 5/26/2011

Good Morning Sally (High School Counselor), I want to start off by saying thank you for the phone call last week to reassure me about Alg. It was a big relief to know "we are ok!." I can't tell you how much that meant to me. I even shared with our LCHEA group how "blessed" I am with my advisor at SCAIHS, and how much it meant to me that you took the time to stop and call me just to reassure me that I am doing ok! That just confirmed in my spirit that I will keep SCAIHS as my accountability group to the end!! It's the little things that count! (Summerville) S.B. 3/22/2011
Note from father of two 2005 graduates: ___ and I are proud parents, blessed and thankful to our Lord—I’m also very thankful that we made the decision to Home School our young men and my wife was willing to take the lead in making the investment and personal sacrifices at the time to make it happen. I love the freedom that Home School gives the parent of a disabled child. (Hartsville) P.B. 3/10/2011
From conversation with Elementary Counselor: She said, "I am so proud of SCAIHS, and of being a member! Can I have some of your business cards to pass around to people in my church who have been asking about homeschooling? I didn't think I could do this, but you people showed me that I can, and now I want others to know they can do homeschooling too!" (Columbia) P.G. 3/9/2011
Just wanted to let you and the staff at SCAIHS know that we appreciate the program you all have there so that families such as mine can teach my daughter at home…Thank you & continue to work so we can have this opportunity. May the Lord continue to pour out His blessing on you all. (St. Stephen) L.H. 3/9/2011
We're so excited to have found SCAIHS and are so thankful that such an organization exists! It seems to be precisely what we'd been hoping and praying for. My husband and I are very much looking forward to being more involved with y'all over the next several years and hope to also spread the word about SCAIHS here in Korea where home education is becoming more and more popular but where parents have so little information and direction. (Korea) E.M. 2/25/2011
Father who came by to pay: He said, “SCAIHS has done a lot for us and the cost is well worth it!” (Columbia) E.B. 2/3/2011
Part of a note received from a mom after getting reading advice from Emily of our Elementary Education Department: But before I could get her to bed she had to stop and make a bookmark so she wouldn't lose her place. Too funny! As an avid book reader, it's such a relief to have her excited to be reading. Thank you again so much, once again you have saved the day... and my sanity! I told my husband this is why being a part of SCAIHS is so important to our home school journey. A million thanks and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas! (Bluffton) M.M. 12/15/2010
I can't thank you enough for all the support and prayers. SCAIHS has been such a fortress for us, on so many levels. (Irmo) K.C. 12/7/2010
Thanks for coming into our lives just in time! I'm so thankful to be able to home school M___!
(St. Stephen) L.H. 12/7/2010
Debbie, we have reflected on our grandson’s home school experience many times, and have come to the conclusion that, with your guidance, Josh was given a “learning environment guide" that ultimately sparked his ability to reach for and achieve the award he received tonight [the highest average in the entire 8th grade at public school]. (Gaston) E.W. 11/16/2010
Thanks again for all of your help. G___'s life is already turned around for the better. She is learning and enjoying life more which makes her health needs/issues much more tolerable and manageable. The first two days of homeschooling she came to me and thanked me for making the decision to do so. (Irmo) R.M. 11/11/2010
...SCAIHS might be interested to know that one of the Honors College reps we spoke to at Open House a couple weekends ago indicated that a SCAIHS transcript carries more weight in their mind than a "home made transcript" from a mom. FWIW..... :-) (Lexington) S.C. 10/11/2010
SCAIHS has been a tremendous help in the college process, as well as applying for scholarships. I’ve often questioned paying the money, but the dues are well worth it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. (Saluda) L.M.—member since 1999 9/28/2010
Sometimes when God opens a door, He leads us to people that can be a big help and that’s what (Yall) at SCAIHS have done for my family. A big thank you and praying God bless the work that He has laid at yalls hands to do. I'm hoping to be able to help another family in the future that is looking to homeschool their child/children. SCAIHS will be the place that I lead them to. You are a place that God sent me to just in time. He's never late, even when we think He is. What an Awesome God. A BIG THANKS. (St. Stephens) L.H. 9/15/2010
I appreciate you taking so much time to talk with me. I was a little hesitant about paying the extra money for curriculum counseling when I joined SCAIHS. But, I knew I would benefit from it. I had no idea how much I would benefit from it! It was well worth the money. You ought to include psychological counseling as one of the benefits as well :) 9/14/2010
Thank you for your ongoing service to homeschoolers. When people here [Spain] ask about my kids’ education, I am happy to be able to tell them that they will get a high school diploma like all the public school kids.… I would so much like them to have a SCAIHS here! May the Lord continue to bless your ministry, (Spain) T.A. 9/8/2010
I appreciate your help so much. You - and SCAIHS - are such a blessing! (Columbia) J.M. 9/7/2010
Working with SCAIHS during the past eight years has been an exceptional experience of refreshing professionalism and service. Your letter of apology regarding the mistakes on the girls’ transcripts was an impeccable testament of the honor and respect that is synonymous with SCAIHS. (Moncks Corner) C.B. 9/1/2010
I appreciate all of the support I have received from the staff at SCAIHS. You all are one of the ways that God is equipping me to do the task of home schooling which I'm sure I could not be doing on my own. (Columbia) J.W. 8/26/2010
Just wanted you to know that we are off to a great start thanks to you, Charlene and the entire staff. I thank the Lord often for your perseverance and existence. I don't know what we would have done to help this child without SCAIHS. (Beaufort) R.M. 8/24/2010

I want to tell you how much you (well, all of you at the SCAIHS office, but particularly you, and also Julie and Charlene) mean to me. Your genuinely caring and dedicated attitude, your evident respect for each home schooling family, your patience, diligence, etc. etc. etc. are so much to be commended. The Lord has surely used your work to help and give direction to our family from the very beginning, and in such a pleasant and reassuring way that I never hesitate to ask even my most foolish questions, and always feel welcome and encouraged, always come away brimming with knowledge, ideas, and lifted spirits. I know so many others must feel the same. I can honestly say that through your counsel and priceless (experienced, practical, circumspect) advice, you have enriched the lives of our family in more ways than I can count, maybe even beyond our generation. Keep up the amazing work! (Chapin) F.G. 6/16/201

Thank you, too, for your diligence in keeping me on top of

You and your staff have been so wonderful and Christlike to me all thru these years! "Thank you "seems so small for all you have done to help us in this homeschooling adventure...but I do Thank each of you from the bottom of my heart. WB, Chapin, SC 2/9/10
You and your organization have played a MAJOR role in M's life. We were brought to you for a reason and now the story is unfolding as we live it right now….Thank you so ever much! MW, Landrum, SC 1/27/10
Although we have known many people who have successfully home schooled, our discussions with them have always been very general. Once you take on the task yourself, it can feel as though you are trying to find your way through a maze! My husband, an educator himself, was so impressed by your organization. He assures me that you can guide us through this "maze" very successfully. AF, Columbia, SC 1/25/10
To Susan in Special Needs Program
I THANK GOD everyday for SCAIHS and the people there. You have definitely been a life changer not just me but more importantly my son. SJ, Lexington, SC 1/5/10

Call for Debbie—Called and said that the next time any of us are tired or discouraged to think about their situation. Her son was in first grade in public school last year. She is so grateful! BM, Leesville, SC 8/17/09

We will always remember the first time we walked into the SCAIHS offices, nervous about what we were about to embark upon with M. back in 1997, not knowing we would end up homeschooling three children altogether! Emily was so understanding and reassuring as she guided us through the process of setting things up… Please thank your entire staff for my Wife and I and our children. SO, (Dad) Amsterdam, NY 7/29/09

We hope you continue your great work because we couldn't have done this without you people. Once again thank you for you hard work and kindness to help us. God bless you all. CF, Windsor, SC 6/15/09
Thank you for the wonderful graduation ceremony on Saturday. I know many hours of planning and prayer were invested in making the day so special. T. continues to comment on how special the day was for her, and E. and I mentioned several times how glad we were that T. participated in the SCAIHS graduation. We feel that the staff at SCAIHS is part of our extended family. I have said this before, but I am so thankful for SCAIHS. You have been so instrumental in the success of our homeschooling through the high school years. DD, Mt. Pleasant, SC 6/9/09
I appreciate you all so much… I've reported to SCAIHS since its beginning and have never regretted it - not one dime and not one report, and I have filled out many of them. CJ, Chesnee, SC 6/5/09
The Special Needs services have been a blessing and an encouragement to us. KB, Elgin, SC 6/3/09
I really don’t know where to begin with this but, I would like to submit something for anyone interested in the Special Needs program at SCAIHS. My name is Samantha Johnson I am a parent of an 11 yr old boy that has Mental Retardation. I just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with the program that SCAIHS has set for us for Special Needs children. I don’t know if there are any other parents out there that may be looking into your program but, I just want to tell them to STOP looking and START here. This program has been exceptional for my child. He has made comments like, "I finally understand my work now" and "I can do this whole book." He has also even asked me in the car driving to go over his words, or to play a math game. This is something he would have never said before. It was always a struggle for me to get him to do his homework and now I realize the reason why. He said in school the only thing the teacher said was blah, blah, blah then she handed you your papers and told you to do your work. He said "I never understood the blah, blah, blah. It was to fast for me". He even stopped playing the Wii game and started working in his workbook one day. Can you believe that he stopped playing a video game to do work in a book? I couldn’t believe it either, I asked myself then who is this and where did my son go? Last night he even went and got his Science book to go through the pictures of the clouds. I know that doesn’t sound like a lot but, it was 9pm at night and we were on the front porch in our pajamas looking at the sky with a book in our hand. Moments like this may seem little to some, but for me these are the moments I will hold FOREVER. Being with SCAIHS you can go at your own pace, set your own goals and be able to start, stop, backup, go forward etc anytime you need to and Special Needs children need that accommodation. That is why I want to recommend this program to anyone out there looking at taking their child out of public school and schooling them at home. This is the best thing you can do for your child. You can give the reassurance they will need to help them through and peace of mind knowing that they are getting the best education they can get because You are giving it to them.
Please know that I APPRECIATE all of the staff at SCAIHS for their hard work everyday to keep this program going for our children. Everyone has been very patient, kind, understanding and considerate. I can’t THANK YOU enough for the way you have been able to assist me to be able to help my child. God, led me to you and the feeling that I have is unlike any other. I can’t explain it but, please know its a feeling that I never want to let go of.
Thank You for taking the time to read this, I APPRECIATE you very much, SJ, Lexington, SC 5/21/09
Dear SCAIHS staff,
I attended the meeting last night and I just wanted to let you know how wonderfully informative it was for me….I wanted to just take a moment to thank you so much for immediately making me (as a new HS mom) feel confident that there is an organization that cares about my HS adventures and is willing to walk alongside me as I make decisions for my family. The meeting was well worth the 1 1/2 hours spent and I can't thank you enough for all of the information. My sister, who homeschools in NC, desperately wishes that she had access to an organization like yours! Thank you for all that you do! CR 5/21/09
From the mother of a graduate: It's hard to believe that we are actually finished! Thank you for your constant encouragement. SCAIHS has played such an important part of our homeschooling. I can't imagine homeschooling without SCAIHS. I am constantly advertising for you in the Charleston area. DD, Mt. Pleasant, SC 5/20/09
